Cast Iron Crazy

The first time my mom pulled out a cast iron pan that she had got at a garage sale I thought it was going to be used for camping. When she began to explain that she was going to use it to cook in everyday, I was sure she had lost it. I was skeptical to say the least. The fact that you don't wash it with soap but boil water in it to clean it each time grossed me out...at first.
Four years later on my own I cannot get enough of my cast iron pan! It seems I can use any kind of oil I want and the food comes off well. And if I burn something or cook too hot the cast iron pan doesn't warp in the slightest.
Currently I am eating delicious taco from my cast iron pan...
Feta Tacos
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup tomatoes
1/8 cup tomatoe paste
1 teaspoon chili powder
Cook beef until brown and add tomatoes, tomatoe paste and powder. Mix well.
Cook up a brown rice with added basil.
I used a whole wheat tortilla and cooked it until slightly crispy.
Put together on the tortilla the meat and rice.
Add 2 Tablespoons of feta cheese to the mix.
Top it off with a plop of sour cream and fold the tortilla in half.
Its a little messy if you try to hold it so I ate it with a fork.
Enjoy!
